Social Security Disability Help, Nationwide

When your health keeps you from working, applying for benefits can feel like another job. A denial can make an already difficult situation feel uncertain.

Feden Law Group helps people nationwide with Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), from the initial application through every stage of appeal. We explain what comes next, help organize the evidence, and work to present a clear account of how your health affects your ability to work.

Help at each stage

Initial applications

Understand what Social Security needs and prepare the information supporting your claim.

Reconsideration

Review the reasons for a denial and address the issues raised in the decision.

Hearings

Prepare for review before an administrative law judge and explain the evidence supporting your claim.

Appeals Council review

Evaluate the hearing decision and the grounds for further administrative review.

Federal-court review

Evaluate and pursue a court challenge when that is the appropriate next step.

Start with your claim, earnings record and work history

SSDI is a federal insurance program tied to an insured worker’s earnings record. A diagnosis alone does not answer every question Social Security must decide. The record also needs to explain the limitations that affect your ability to work.

For your consultation, have your most recent Social Security notice available if you have one. Be ready to discuss where your claim stands, your recent work, and the health problems that affect your ability to keep working. If you have not applied yet, we can begin there.

SSDI and disability insurance are different

A claim with Social Security is different from a short- or long-term disability claim under an employer plan or insurance policy. Tell us which benefits are involved so we can direct your inquiry appropriately.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is also a separate program, based in part on limited income and resources. If you are unsure whether your claim involves SSDI, SSI or both, tell us that when you contact the firm.

A clear next step

Tell us whether you are applying, responding to a denial, preparing for a hearing or seeking further review. We will discuss your situation and whether the firm can help. Deadlines apply, so have a denial or appeal notice reviewed promptly.
